Slushies!

About a week ago,
I earned me some extra cash
for fixing this guy’s computer.

Not that much really,
but it’s a couple of bucks
I didn’t have before.

So anyway,
I decided on the drive home,
that’ I’ll stop by the drive-thru,
and surprise Tracy with a slushie drink.
A large one.
Coz I am cool like that.

She loves them slushies!
Makes her happy as a kid in a candy store.

Well, plus even though I am as useful as a bag of rocks inside the house,
I would like to surprise her from time to time.

You know, sucking up to your wife is not a bad thing.
It will come in handy sooner or later.
Hopefully sooner.

Anyways.
After I got her the slushie drink,
to my dismay,
I was stuck right in the midst of 5 major intersections,
in rush hour traffic,
under a scorching 100 degree Florida heat.

So there I was,
I’m about 2 jumps ahead of a fit,
holding the slushie drink in front of the blasting airconditioner,
trying to keep it from melting.

By the time I reached the last intersection,
towards the boulevard where we live,
I tried to be smart and took a different route.

Construction Ahead!

These two words on a certain sign
made me want to throw the hot
liquid cup of slushie drink right in front of me.
Which is a good thing I didn’t,
because the windshield would have stopped it
and it’ll make a big mess in the car.

No matter.
It’ll all be worth it when I hand Tracy her surprise.
Hoping she wouldn’t mind if I give her
one melted slushie drink.
She can put it in the fridge and drink it later anyways.

As I walked in the house,
I see a note by the door.
It says.

Honey,
Tyler and I went out to get some slushies.
Be back later.
Love ya.
Tracy

~~~~
I never win.
I can’t tell.
I can’t tell if my son is saying,
Buzz Lightyear.
Or, Budweiser.
No matter how much I try.
But the more he says it,
The more I wanted to start drinking.
Heavily.
I am tired.
Katrina’s waves
How come I haven’t written anything
here about the disaster in New Orleans?
Well.
Three reasons.
First,
You don’t care
Second,
I am slow.
But not as slow as the president’s response
to the disaster struck areas.
And third,
I have a hard time wrapping my head around how
this has gotten so bad.
Where it was clear that there were a number of opportunities
that this calamity could have been minimized, if not prevented.
Was everything that was supposed to be implemented
days before the hurricane hit,
actually put into action?
My heart goes out to the victims of Hurricane Katrina,
and may the ones who perished find peace and rest.
But people need not worry anymore.
Things are going to get better.
Why?
Because that rap guy Kanye West knows all the solution to this problem.
He seem to be an expert when it comes to adding more hatred,
right in the midst of suffering and confusion.
How come this guy still hasn’t got his “I am stupid” award?
You know, he’s not the only one that is deeply affected by these events,
but he just had to go and play the “Race” card on such difficult times.
Way to go, Kanye.
Way to go.
People like this guy are the reason
“Racism” is alive and well in America.
And why am I still seeing Kanye performing at events
even after his remarks about President Bush?
Didn’t he perform at the NFL season opening?
And I think MTV and VH1 are still airing his videos.
If my memory serves me right,
Not too long ago,
An all female group, that goes by the name of The Dixie Chicks,
said something awful about the same President.
And immediately,
the group’s entire CD albums were boycotted,
banned from the radiowaves,
and ridiculed by everyone,
which pretty much destroyed their careers.
But not Mr. West.
Why?
You tell me why.
Because I am really getting confused about
who’s benefiting with the “double standard
in this country.
I am slow, remember?
Although, one thing I am certain of,
in response to Mr. West’s accusation about the President.
I think, President Bush cares about black people,
as much as Kanye West cares about white people.
There.
I said it.
Come to think of it,
President Bush doesn’t care about what I said here too.
~~~
If you can’t afford to donate and help,
please say a prayer for the victims of this misfortune.

Southern Racer

Hey!
Do you want to see what we found in our backyard?

Clicky here.

Cool Huh?
I mean, not cool!

I saw it when I opened the windows to check out the yard.
Then I called Tracy,
who seemed to be quite annoyed,
because she insists that
she heard me scream like a little girl.
But that’s not what’s important here.

So we went out in the backyard,
and me carrying a metal stick,
thinking I can kill it.
(Coz I am stupid like that)

But when the snake saw us,
it suddenly shifted in attack mode…
or it seemed like it was attack mode.
You know, like a cobra, with its prey in sight.

As I lifted my stick slowly,
the snake just darted out towards our neighbor’s yard.
So fast, that it hit the fence hard.

And I mean hard, like when you hit your head,
you know it’s gonna leave a mark kinda hard?
Then you become more pissed?

I bet you that snake got so pissed,
it’s gonna come back and haunt me more.
Just to aggravate my paranoia.

Anyway,

ESL Posse

New song added!

ESL Posse

Backing tracks from Total Guitar Mag.
Guitars by yours truly.

There’s this Jazz bar back in the Philippines,
where me and my friends sometimes used to hang out at.

Okay that is not entirely true.
We pretty much grew up in this place. We were there a lot!

The place is called ESL (East St. Louis).

So, this music post is a tribute to the enjoyment
we have shared while we hung out at this bar.
(Or from whatever we remember,
with all the alcohol consumption that damaged our brain.)

I was just going to call this “The ESL,”
but I changed it to “ESL Posse.”
Since that was what we used to call ourselves,
and I seem to enjoy saying that word.
Posse.

This music is pretty similar to the songs they used to play
while we were in this bar.
A bit of a Jazzy, Bossanova-esque style.

The melody just kept churning in my head for weeks.
I must have heard it somewhere before.
Probably at the bar’s restroom while I was throwing up.
But that’s not important right now.

Not much Guitar effects on this one.
I tried to achieve a sound that is raw, clean and real.

Just like how real me and my friends were when we were together.
And when I say together, I mean we would all wake up in someone’s bedroom,
trying to figure out where in the hell we were.
Hung over, or hungry.
Fighting who gets to use the bathroom first.
You know. Together.

Posse!!!!!

I missed it

Now get this.

Guitarist Paul Gilbert, had a
U.S. Guitar Clinic tour which included
2 cities in Georgia,
1 in Alabama,
and one in Florida.

And I missed it all.

I could have seen this guy perform.
I could have driven to these places,
and learn while watching him molest his guitar.

But Noooo!!!!
I missed it all!

Now, I wouldn’t say that I am disappointed,
because that’s not what I really felt.

A more suitable depiction is that
I am so full of rage and fury,
that I murdered my neighbor’s cat.

Since I had the impression that he wouldn’t tell me,
if he knew that Paul Gilbert will be playing in Florida.

It was an ugly cat anyway.

Now excuse me,
while I destroy this desk with my head.

Natural Born Talent

Have you ever known someone
who you can tell has Natural Born talent?

I always wondered how parents figure out
what their kids are born to be.

I mean, Tiger Wood’s parents knew he’ll be a golfer.

Michael Jordan wanted to play baseball,
but he was born to dominate another sport.

And most Guitar gods I admire,
have been playing since they were kids.

So I am trying to learn how to know
what kids are born to be.

I started with this venture
at the regular play place where we take Tyler to.

I saw the young boy who never stopped running,
might be the next marathon runner.

The young girl standing on top of the slide, singing,
might be born to be a great Opera singer.

But those are just speculations.

Although there was one incident
where I truly know what this one kid is going to be.

There is no doubt in my mind
that I have determined what this kid’s natural born talent is.

See, my son is just very friendly,
and that’s just how he is.
He talks to every single person wherever we go.
I feel bad for him sometimes,
when he says hi to other kids,
No one ever says Hi to him back.

So anyway,
at the playground where we were at,
Tyler was talking to this young girl.
He’s just trying to strike up a conversation I guess.

I presume the little girl to be about 5 years of age.
But the little girl kept running away,
trying to avoid my son.

But whenever they get to cross paths again,
Tyler would just start talking to her.

This happened quite a number of times,
but the girl just keeps on avoiding him.

Then, all of a sudden,
We hear this little girl shout at the top of her lungs to Tyler,

“Please leave me alone!”

It was so loud,
everyone heard her.

As my son, just walks away,
plays with someone else.

And this my friends,
is when I realized that,
that little girl,

Was born to be a bitch.

I know, I know.
She’s just a little kid.
They don’t know yet.
But what do you do?
What do you say?

Which brings me to this little question…

Is it wrong for me to hate kids
who has hurt my son physically?
Everytime they are together?

Say, they’re about a year older,
with the most irresponsible parents.
And worse,
they are family.

Am I really wrong?
See, I am a parent now.
And I have never been a parent before.
The safety and wellness of my kids is of utmost importance to me.
Does it give me the right to hate those who are mean to them?
Even if it is other kids?

It doesn’t matter.
I don’t care anyways.
I stopped caring about other things
quite a while ago.

Okay, maybe that wasn’t true.
And it doesn’t make sense.
Come to think of it,
I am not making sense here for the last 5 minutes.
Then why am I still talking?

Sheesh.
God I hate Mondays!
And stupid people.

I learned something new.

A toddler will spit out any kind of food,
if it is too hot.

Except,
fresh baked chocolate cookies.

Instead of spitting it out,
they would rather suffer and shake.

/Add that to the list.
//Gives the kid a drink.
///Refrains from laughing.

Daylight Savings Time

Congress approved to extend the Daylight Savings time?
Read all about it here.
cnn.com

Here too.
infoplease.com

Now correct me if I am incorrect.

If this means more sunlight for us in the afternoon,
doesn’t that mean we all get up and start our day
while it is still dark?

Children waiting for their school buses way before sunlight?

Then if this bill is meant to save energy,
doesn’t people use more light “in the dark?”
Isn’t light, “energy?”

Lawmakers also said that,
since there are more sunlight in the afternoon,
that would encourage more people to go outside.

Well, I don’t know about you,
but I don’t know that many people who parties everyday after work,
knowing that they have to wake up an hour early the following day,
in the dark.

Plus isn’t it if there is more sunlight,
equals more heat,
equals constant air conditioning?

And aren’t most establishments close at their normal closing times anyway,
Which leaves normal people no choice but to go home?
I mean of course, it doesn’t include,
those partying, bar-hopping people I don’t know about.

Isn’t the Daylight Savings Time implemented during the war?
Or to help farmers in the old days?

Is it still really necessary to have this put into practice
at this day and age?

Does it really help save energy for the country?

If parts of Arizona, Hawaii, Saskatchewan and some in B.C. does not follow DST,
do they have (or had) any energy crisis we know about?
(Or farmers complaining?)

Oh well, what do I know?
I guess it is best to submit all trust in the government.

After all,
The economy is great.
The war in Iraq is successful, over and done with.
Oil prices have never been so affordable.
Unemployment rate is a thing of the past.
Poverty has been totally eliminated.
And there is cure for cancer.

Oh no wait……

/Prays that America would stop voting for stupid people.
//Canada too.
///Amen
