First,
I must apologize,
for it took so long to write about
the show I have been talking about for weeks.
I was going to do a detailed, blow-by-blow account of my experience,
from the moment I got there,
until I left the music hall.
But, as I was writing it down,
even I got bored and started doing something else.
So, I’ll just start from where I actually entered the hall.
After standing in line,
out in the rain,
for 2 hours.
So if you are still with me…
I found a spot, about 15 to 20 feet from the stage.
Somewhere on the left, by the speakers.
Which was great, since Eric and Joe’s guitar were panned towards that side.
The show started at 8pm,
and Eric Johnson comes out,
with his red Fender Strat.
I don’t remember what his first song was,
since I spent most of it,
screaming like a drunk groupie.
He played a couple of new songs,
From the “Alien Love Child” album and
some from “Venus Isle.”
And new stuff I have never heard before.
He also did a song by “The Monkees,”
with a little twist of Rock.
Which I can’t really remember how it went
since the “drunk groupie” was still screaming.
Finished off with “S.R.V. (Tribute to Stevie Ray),”
And the classic song, “Cliffs Of Dover.”
The guy does stuff with his guitar,
I have never seen before.
There was a point where he just banged the body of his guitar,
And it actually played a chord.
I can’t actually explain it, but that’s what I thought he did,
or that’s what it looked like.
As geeky and serious looking as he is,
He actually was pretty funny.
Said a couple of silly jokes and made the people laugh.
But, what was great was, how you can tell he was really grateful that
people came out to see the show.
Bowed and thanked everyone after each and every song.
Watching him perform was really a dream come true for me.
Joe Satriani hasn’t even played yet,
and I already had my money’s worth.
Then he came out.
Joe, started his show with “Flying in a Blue Dream.”
Drove the entire crowd crazy.
Comes out with his Ibanez,
Playing like there was no tomorrow.
And then,
right after that,
I must tell you,
You wouldn’t believe what happened.
You know how guitar players,
throw their guitar picks at the audience for souvenir?
After the first song,
Joe, threw his,
And I CAUGHT IT!
Well, not actually caught it.
It bounced off of my hand,
And landed right beside my foot.
The place was dark and crowded, but I actually saw the pick beside my foot.
Like there was a Divine Light pointing at it,
Saying , “Here you go Son, here’s your souvenir.”
I am not lying,
I have it.
Here’s a picture —> front – back
Then he played some songs from his new album, “Super Collosal.”
Which I just got, and is now on a constant repeat on my cd player.
I lost my mind when he played “Always With Me, Always With You,”
And mixed it with “A little Help from My Friends,” Joe Cocker version.
(Joe Satricocker?)
Finished off with “Surfing With The Alien.”
Which just brought the house down.
I tell you,
I have listened to that album so much, it is implanted in my brain.
It was great to finally see him play it LIVE!
Then the Encore!
Started off with a new song called “Crowd Chant.”
Also from the new album,
then completed it with “Summer Song.”
At this point,
I really had no more voice,
and I was freakin’ exhausted.
But they weren’t done with me.
All of a sudden,
Joe said,
“We already have two guitarists here,
Why not make it a G3?”
“Ladies and Gentlemen,
Please welcome,
Mr. STEVE MORSE!”
Oh My Freakin’ GOD!
I love Steve Morse!
What more can I ask for?
When Steve came out, and also brought Eric Johnson back on stage,
I believe I actually shit my pants right then and there.
Started the Jam, with Jeff Beck’s “I’m going down.”
At this point, I didn’t care that we weren’t allowed to take pictures,
I took my cell phone and started snapping.
One bouncer security staff guy saw me, but didn’t do anything.
Well, there were a lot of people doing the same thing anyways.
Although I must admit,
I might be the only one taking pictures
and crying at the same time.
But that’s not important right now.
The trio finished the jam, with Jimi Hendrix’s “Red House.”
It was probably 20 minutes long.
I never actually wanted it to end
The show was Unbelievamazing!
It was Beautificent!
And if I had to invent words like what I just did there,
you know I am not kidding!
It was one hell of a show.
I really don’t have the words to express it.
Maybe I am just a really big fan of these three guys,
or maybe I am just a really big fan of these three guys.
No matter how you slice it,
I had a great time!
It was an awesome 4 hour show!

I must apologize for this long post.
Now if you would excuse me,
I have some ROCKIN‘ to do!
I think I am going to rename my Ibanez Electric.
From her old name of “Delilah”, to “Divine.”
In honour of the “Divine Light” that made me see Joe’s guitar pick.
I am so going to frame that pick!
Thank you Oh Lords of Rock!
Thank you!
Woah! ‘Tol! Congrats on the pick! Heh.
Well, sounds like you had quite a night. I am so glad you got to see them play, now I want to hear some of their music, but with you playing. Also, I like the pictures, but where are mine at of my grandson? Remember don’t forget Grandma. Nothing new on the house, just waiting for things to clear. Wish it was all over and we were there with you and Tracy. Later, Love Mom
Thanks Vince!
The concert was quite an experience.

Yes I did have a great time, Mom. I am sorry about Tyler’s pictures.
I’ll put them up as soon as I get my voice back, and my hearing.
I did play their songs in here already.
From Eric Johnson,
“Song for George” and “Cliffs of Dover.”
And From Joe Satriani,
“Always WIth Me, Always With You” and “Tears In The Rain.”
They’re somewhere under “Chorus.”
But you know what, don’t even bother.
I realized they are all wrong since I’ve seen them play it Live.
Holy crap! Steve Morse too…must’ve been amazing. I’d stand in the rain for 2 hours to see that! Thanks for the review and the pic(k)s.
Ed!
The show was beyond words.
You would have loved it!
Dave Larue played on Bass. That should have been a hint for me that Steve Morse was around.
Apparently, Steve lives around Orlando, and so is Larue.
And my souvenir will be framed soon!
Best,
Ty
WOW, sounds like an awesome show for you buddy.
I’m glad to hear to enjoyed it.
