The Worry Box

This is the Worry Box.

It was lent to me by someone from my work.
I didn’t know it, but this is something they pass around
whenever someone or their family is going through trying times.

Since I spend a good number of hours in a day there,
and maybe one or two of them know the difficulties and trials I go through,
that pretty much makes them my extended family.

And I guess, they treat me as one too.
So they lent me The Worry Box.

I was told that I can hold on to it,
cast my worries in it,
and hope to have the burdens in my heart be lifted.
Even just for a little while.
And bring it back for someone else who may need it,
when my worries are done.

It may be nothing to some, but to me
this gesture of kindness mean a lot.

It truly is amazing how you see all these people who “truly” care for you.
Not because they need you for something,
but because you have been a part of their life too.

I have proven that when I was in Canada as well.

I went up there a couple of weeks ago to be with my family
as we go through trying times.
As soon as the word got out,
we have gotten overwhelming offers of support.

Most of these people I haven’t talked to in years.
Yet they braved the bitter teeth of winter
just to come and spend some time with us.

So to all of these amazing and admirable people,
on behalf of my family,
I give them my sincerest thanks.

Thank you.

“Your Worry Box
This box is for your worries,
The aches within your heart.
A place to tuck away your fears,
Where love and hope can start.
So keep this box beside you,
And know how much they care.
For when you need peace and joy,
The angels will be there.”
