The VMAs ’09

I don’t think anyone has not heard of what happened at the MTV Movie awards last Sunday.
So let me get right through it.

I was going to post this yesterday, but I had my wisdom tooth pulled out.
I was hurting and shoving my mouth with ice cream at the same time.
I was a little busy.

Anyway,
I do not want to start this post by saying how much of an ass Khanyey Whoest is!
I don’t even want to spell his name.
But I want to say how great and talented Taylor Swift is.
The kid is only 19 years old and has achieved more than most of us have ever
dreamed of when we were at that age.

Congratulations to you, Ms. Swift!
I am glad you won.
Not that you read my site or actually know I exist
but I want to say that to you anyway.

Now how much of an attention whore is Kanye
that he had to steal someone else’s limelight?
Does he seriously think he knows better than all of the judges of the VMAs?
Which, if I may add, are actually the fans?

Your “Douchebaggery” has made me so upset while I was watching the show
that I had forgotten how awesome the Tribute to Michael Jackson number was.

Instead of everyone remembering that night as a tribute to him,
it will be remembered as how much of an ass you are.
Nicely done, Kanye!
Nicely done.

And don’t you ever bring back that stunt you pulled about your race.
People do not hate you because of your colour.
They hate you because you are an asshole.

Now I can’t wait how the Kanye defenders are going to weasel him out of this one.
Just because you have the ability to apologize, (which I am sure contains no regret whatsoever)
does not make it any right.
Picking on 19 year old teenagers.
The damage has been done, you jerk.
Why don’t you pull that stunt in your own category, when you lost to Eminem?

Kudos to Taylor Swift for being professional.
Carried on with her performance number and actually kicked ass!
She didn’t go and become a Diva and locked herself backstage and refused to do her part.
I wonder how anyone else would handle that situation.

And I must say how humbling it was for Beyonce to let Taylor re-capture her moment.
That was very big of her to do that.
She was able to portray how wrong Kanye was but with class and hotness.
I say hotness because her performance was so hot, I had to take a cold shower afterwards.

Okay, I have said my piece. I am moving on.

The rest of the show wasn’t too bad.
It only would have been better if I understood what Lady Gaga was trying to convey
with all the outfits she wore.
Dear Ms. Gaga. You have been awarded with a VMA.
There really is no need for shock value anymore.
Give your fans more music and less WTF? moments.

Greenday, I think was one of the highlights of the night.
Those guys never fail to rock!
I would give anything to watch them perform.

I actually did enjoy seeing the New Moon trailer.
It made me stop and really ponder about reading the rest of the series.
But Dan Brown’s “The Lost Symbol” comes out today
and that pretty much overtook everything in my GoodReads list.

I am also starting to like that Katy Perry. She has a pretty powerful set of voice.
She had my complete attention when she was on stage.
Even with Joe Perry, (whom I adore), didn’t sway me from staring at Katy’s talents.

And I think the VMAs became the happiest place on earth when Megan Fox arrived.
But that’s just me.
Don’t go nagging on me now.
I am sure a lot of women felt the same way when the Twilight Fang Boy came out on stage.
And is it me or Kristen Stewart looked a lot like Selma Blair with that do?

Madonna’s story about Michael Jackson was pretty moving as well.
That was the second longest time Madonna has gotten my undivided attention
ever since she did that provocative performance of Like A Virgin at the VMAs in 1984.

And in conclusion,
as much as I enjoyed Janet Jackson’s tribute performance,
I must say that I miss Michael.
The kids of today will never understand how much he has influenced,
inspired and shook the world of Music and Music Videos.
He revolutionized what we have today.

The VMAs have been a big part of me when I was growing up too.
I have seen how it has evolved.
I remember when Hard Rock dominated the music scene,
Then came Pop,
Then came Rap and Hip Hop.
And now a young 19 year old country artist has been recognized.
Prepare for a new music generation my friends.

Oh and just a little side note:

With regards to what happened to Taylor Swift,
I actually went out, went to the store and bought her CD.
I will try to expose myself to her music and enjoy this new generation.

I am not really a fan, but I did it just to spite Kanye.
