One of the things I love about playing music
is when it starts to take over you.

I play the notes as they come out of me.
I am not able to repeat them if I tried.
They have to be learned, if need be.

Here’s an example of a riff I played on this song
and I can’t really repeat every note on it.
I had to listen to it again to learn to play the notes.
It’s one of those “in the moment” thingies.

Just like when they say “Carpe Diem!”
Or, “Seize the Carp!”
