Valer Kuberch

A couple of weeks ago,

Nikki, a very good friend of mine,
sent us this “modified” song lyrics,
making us guess what song it was.

I thought it was pretty funny,
so I decided to play it.

Anyways,
If you did not spend your childhood in the Philippines,
or currently not residing there,
this would not make any sense at all.

So just allow me to post this tune,
and maybe you could sing along.

Just follow the bouncing ball.

–You’re gonna have to forgive me.
I was laughing when I did this.

Valer Kuberch

Valer kuberch, kahit jutay
Ang julamantrax donchi ay anek-anek.
Nyongkamas at nutring, nyogarilyas at kipay
Nyitaw, nyotaw, jutani.
Kundol, jutola, jupot jolabastrax
At mega join-join pa, jobanox nyustasa.
Nyubuyax, nyomatis, nyowang at luyax
And around the keme ay fulnes ng linga.

*Thanks Niks!

Atlanta meet up / New Song Added

Me and my Grade school friends met up in Atlanta, Georgia
last Labor day weekend.

And had a great time.

I played this song, in tribute to how wonderful these people are.
Them and their families.

Thanks Abbie, Jay and Emma.
Thanks Maita.
Thanks Jojo and David.
and Thanks Myra, Chris and Jake.

You know,
I’ve looked at our old pictures,
and it made me wonder how things have turned out for everyone.

Sometimes, I can’t help but notice
how everyone’s life turned out as they are.

I never expected my life to be like this.

Nothing is as how you wanted them to be,
but still you make do with what you got.
Spending your time trying to fix your broken dreams.

Just like when I was at that age,
I wanted to be a famous Rock Star.
Rich beyond my dreams,
and with people bowing to my greatness.

That didn’t happen.
Not even remotely close.

Except for the famous part.

I am famous!
But only in Japan.

I am “big” there.

** Happy Birthday to Maita (13), Myra (22) and Emma (24).

Hurry, because I am making them private soon.

New Song Added – Maybe I’m A Leo

Maybe I’m A Leo
By Deep Purple

I have been listening to a lot of Classic Rock these past few weeks.
I don’t know why.

I guess I am just re-introducing myself to how guitar music was
in the old days.
The good days.

I have always said that I would give anything to have been in that era.
In the music scene of the late 60’s and 70’s.

How I would love to have witnessed the first Woodstock.
The “real” Woodstock.

Where love, peace and understanding
dominated everyone’s feelings.

Well, that and drugs.

But I wouldn’t do the drugs.
I never have and never will.
I am not that stupid.

I don’t need drugs to make me feel high.
I get the same effect just by playing music.

Or eating wasabi.

Song Added – Right Now

One of the reasons why I keep playing music is that
whenever I find myself struggling to keep my sanity
with day to day aggravation,
playing music keeps me from screaming like a mad man out in the streets.

Plus, this way,
I keep myself out of trouble and just stay indoors.

I totally refuse to go outside.
It’s a very dangerous world.
Bad things happen outside.
The Civil War happened outside.

At least that’s what I have learned from my parents.
That’s why I was locked indoors and never allowed to have friends.

Anyways,
Here’s a song by SR-71.

Right Now

It took me 49 takes before I came up with this one.
And I am still not happy with it.
It got to be very frustrating.

Come to think of it,
I should have just gone outside.

Bonus points on whoever figures out where I ripped off the Lead Guitar solo.

Man I should have just renamed this entire site
“Rip Off Music.”
Because that’s all I do.

Anyways,
This is a very catchy Rock song.
I saw SR-71 perform in Ottawa when they opened up for Bon Jovi.

I think this was a song from the movie
“Dude where’s my car?”

Or in Tagalog
“Dong, saang lebel tayo nag park?”

New Song Added – Pick Up the Pieces

Well,
as I come out of my dark place,
where I was in complete solitude.
Pondering my life’s dilemma.
And praying to the Holy Trinity,
Britney, Paris and Lindsay.

I realized, that the only way for me
To keep on going
is to pick up the pieces
and play some music.

So here’s a little bit of Jazz.

Pick Up The Pieces
by The Average White Band.
(Jeff Golub’s Version)

I don’t know what it is,
but playing this song
makes me want to drink some refreshments.
And by refreshments I meant “alcohol.”

But I’ll drink it with a straw.
Because, I am “classy” like that.

Happy Mother’s Day

Here’s a sappy, sentimental song I played,
perfect for Mother’s day.

Because I am in serious need of a Mother’s love and care.
Especially now that I am three days into this South Beach Diet.

You Made Me Live Again
by Janet Basco

I need to be taken care of, since this diet will be the death of me.
After three days of not being able to eat what I want,
I am seriously becoming delusional.

Now I remember the reason why I don’t do diets.
They make me want to kill myself.

Or that guy who invented this crap.
I would like to murdelize the bastard!

I’m just kidding.
I do not really want to kill him.
I wouldn’t really do that.

Maybe just force him to whistle,
while I am pinching his nipples.

Here’s a song for you.

Leader of the Band

I just did this 20 minutes ago.
Fresh from the oven.
Mainit init pa.

I always think of you whenever I play this one.
I hope you like it.

I love you Dad!

Another Song Added – Every Time I Look At You

Very few of you know,
that I also have a music page in here.
(and when I say few, I meant less than two)

Anyway,
I added one more song to that page.

A Rock Ballad by KISS,
“Every Time I Look At You.”

Mobile Player here:

I know, I know.
It’s a ballad, even though I promised
to bring back the ROCK on this site.

Well, I like Ballads.

Maybe I am not a true “Rocker.”
I just pretend to be one.

That’s what I always do in my everyday life.
I always pretend.

Like how I pretend that I do not have superpowers.
Wearing a cape and a hat.
And not just any hat.
One of those combination hat and earmuffs kind of thing.
And some gloves.
With flashy sequins.

Hey, superheroes get cold too.
but still want to look fabulous!

And that’s me.

Super Fah-bu-lous!

New Song Added – We Can work It Out

That is it.
I am bringing back the ROCK on this site.
I can’t play anymore ballads.

Because,
Every time I sing a sentimental, depressing song,
I just end up staring into the abyss and wallow in self pity.

And even though I enjoy doing that,
I have to pick myself up from time to time,
just to keep my sanity
and play some Rock songs!

And what better way to re-introduce rock than
play some Beatles tunes?

So here’s a pretty nice tune called
We Can work It Out,
by The Beatles.

-A little tribute to Mr. John Lennon,
Who died 26 years ago today.

Check it out under Chorus.

**update:
Crap, I just realized I sang the wrong words.
I knew I spent too much time in the abyss.
I’m gonna have to fix that.
(Maybe.)

New Song, Dedicated to.

This song is for Kristine,
who’s starting a new life in another country.

I know this is one of your favorites,
since we used to sing it a lot way back then.

I just realized now,
that you’re moving to a different place,
and you won’t have the internet for a while,
that would mean that the number of people who read my site will drop down to 4.

My God! You better make sure you get the internet soon.
Or I am going to have to teach you how to network your TV
and your typewriter by using some cow skin,
and Hobbit turds.

Don’t worry. I’ve done it before.
I’m a professional.

Anyways,
Here’s your song

Leaving On A Jet Plane.
By John Denver.

Love you very much.
