New Song added – I Need You Lord

This is another one we used to sing in Church back in High School.
It’s another song by Bro. Mike Lapid.

It’s another one of those songs that
helped me during tough times.

Seems like I take refuge in them quite often these days.
In these trying times, we all need the help we can get.

I hope this song would help anyone, as much as it helped me.

One Friend

My very good friend, Nerisse
passed away today.

I played this song, in her memory.

We pray for your soul, my dear friend.
Rest in the arms of our Lord.

You will be missed.

A sad day

It’s Mother’s day today,
but it’s a sad day for our family.

This song is for you, Kuya Rhey.
The coolest Brother-In-Law one could ever have.

Thank you for always being kind to me.

We’re definitely going to miss you.

Song Added – BKD

Okay, for those who don’t know this one,
it’s an old Original Pilipino Music
during the disco era.

And for those who actually know this song,
and grew up in the Philippines,
Don’t pretend you don’t like this tune.
It’s very catchy and it’ll stick in your head for days.

You know you like it and you’ll sing along with it
if it ever comes out on the radio.
Complete with your 70’s disco moves.

But let me tell you how this song came abouts here.
The girls from the ATL trip were discussing marriage
or something like that.
And they threw me a challenge to make a solemn wedding song
out of this tune,
for the bridal march.

Long story short,
Here comes the … whatever it is.

Hope you like it.

See?
This is what happens when I get challenged.

Terrible things happen.
Just like that time when I got challenged to eat a dozen rotten eggs.
I may have spent 3 days in the bathroom,
but hey, my lunch was free.

Song Added – I Love You

It’s discomforting to realize sometimes
that I only know how to pray when I am in trouble
or when I am in dire need.

And more often than not,
they consist mostly of complaints, hatred,
criticisms and disapprovals.

Like I can do a better job than Him.

But can you blame me?
I am only human.
I am tired.
I am tired of reaching out.
I don’t think He really listens to me.
It’s no fun when you don’t get any answers.

Another Song added – Once Again

One of my personal favourite 80’s OPM songs.
(Original Pilipino Music)

As cheesy as it sounds,
you can not deny the beauty of the songs from old.

Of course they have a certain nostalgia effect to my generation.

I wasn’t really planning on posting this,
But Kristine actually told me a very good point
on why I should.

I couldn’t tell you what it was,
because I don’t want the secret out
and other people might steal my ideas.

And judging from my past,
I now keep all my ideas to myself.

I have great ideas all the time.
But people steal them and profit from it.

You know that
Two all beef patties, special sauce,
lettuce, cheese, pickles,
onions on a sesame seed bun
?

Totally my idea.

And then I met a clown.

Anyway,
here’s my rendition of Keno’s
Once again.

New song added – Play Guitar

I had this idea a long time ago,
to do a medley of popular guitar riffs and solos.

But I never really knew any song where I can put them all together,
until I heard this song by Paul Gilbert and Jimi Kidd.

So I just mixed it all,
played the riffs,
and see what comes out.

You can obviously tell from this that
I am a child of the 80’s. (and a bit of the 70’s)

These are just some of the music
that influenced me to play guitar.

See if you can also hear my fingers bleeding.

New Song Added – When She Cries

My friend Hershey,
reminded me of this song I used to love. (And still do)

When She Cries
by Restless Heart

It wasn’t really a request,
It’s more of a “Can you do this?”

Which to me it sounded more like,
“Let’s see how you are going to butcher this one.”

And because I proclaim myself as a (copycat) musician,
that’s just exactly what I did.

I butchered this song like there was no tomorrow.
And I am proud of it.

See, I am cool like that.
Sometimes I can not even hear my playing
from the sound of how awesome I am.

Just like that time when I saved 10 kittens from a burning house.

I didn’t really have to do it.
But somebody pushed me inside.

Was there a point to all of this?

Absolutely none whatsoever.

For the longest time
I have been playing this song
solely based on memory.

I have attempted to find this song on the internet,
and try to figure out the artist who sang it.

But just like every other thing I search for on the intarwebnet,
It gave me more than 3 million results
which has nothing to do with what I wanted.
And since I am the king of procrastination and laziness,
I immediately gave up and pursued other important things on the web.

Anyways,
Not until my friend, Nikki
Asked me if I could play this one,
and even gave me the lyrics and a YouTube link,
That I realized,
I have been playing it wrong for so long.

And did I correct my mistakes?
Hell no!

But that’s what makes it “my music.”
All the mistakes.

So when you listen to my playings,
Think of the mistakes that you hear, as art.

A beautiful, mistake-ful art.

Just like Britney’s kids.
I consider myself a mistake too.

Everything about me is wrong.

Oh, shut up.
