Here’s another Video post.
An old song by one of my favorite bands.
Depeche Mode’s Somebody.
My good friend, Avelyn requested this song and challenged me to do another Video.
And when I say “challenged,” I meant she pressured me.
But that’s ok.
I can’t say no to a song that means a lot to me.
I remember having this song on constant repeat on my cassette player,
if you guys remember what a cassette player is.
Anyway, Here is,
Somebody
Music by Depeche Mode
Covered by yours truly.
I did it on guitars to have a different feel from a piano.
And Video Recorded on Black and White to have that “Nostalgic” feel.

Here’s a new Song Video Post.
A cover of one of my favourite Air Supply songs.
Don’t judge me! I like Air Supply.
They are one of those bands that everyone refuse to admit they like,
but knows the words to most of their songs and can sing it.
Now I am aware that I am not a professional,
my playing is not the best and my appearance is not nice,
so let’s keep the criticism to a minimum.
Oh what the heck. Lay it on me.
It’s not that I can do much about it anyway.
Still I thank you for watching.
I was having an OPM (Original Pilipino Music) kick
a couple of weeks ago,
and I remembered this song from my archives.
It’s an old song from the Philippines
sung by Odette Quesada.
My good friend, Anne
actually asked me if I know this one.
I said “Yeah, it’s one of my favorites too.”
Then she said, “Can you play it?”
“Not only am I going to play it.” I answered.
“I am also going to ruin it!”
And now, I am going to share it with you.
So here’s
Friend of Mine

I didn’t get to wish and greet you all a very happy new year so.
A Very Happy New Year to you all!
Why don’t we start this 2011 with a song?
This one is one of my favorite songs by the “Brothers Gibb.”
It is called I.O.I.O.
I remember the first time I heard this; I wanted to learn and play it.
It’s one of the catchiest tunes I have ever known.
I always thought it was a feel-good, happy song,
But the more I listen to it; I figured it is actually a song about heartbreak.
And for the singer to forget his pain and sadness,
he sings I.O.I.O.
Man, this song used to cheer me up.
Now every time I listen to my version, it just depresses me more.
That’s just great.
Start the New Year with sadness, Ty.
No matter.
We have to make the most of this year.
We need to stay positive.
And always be good.
The world is ending in 2012.
We’re going to meet The Maker soon.
Time to cram for the final exams.

I have been listening to a lot of OPM (Original Pilipino Music) lately,
and I was trying to do some new covers,
but my recording gadgets won’t cooperate with me.
So, I just dug into my old archives
and see what I have made before
that I haven’t posted yet.
Here’s an old favourite of mine.
Ikaw Lamang
(by Zsa Zsa Padilla)
I made this one back in 2006.
Definitely one of the best Filipino love songs I have ever heard.
I remember when I used to play this in weddings.
I had to pause my singing a couple of times
to actually take in the emotions that this song is trying to convey.
Okay, maybe I was crying,
but that’s not important right now.
The important thing is we all appreciate the beauty of a song,
no matter what language it was written in.
Oh and of course it’s important to me that you listen to it,
and pretend that you like it.
So here is,
Ikaw Lamang

Lyrics begin here:
You know.
I have been attempting to go back and create lots of music
just like how I used to.
I actually am starting to line up a bunch of songs for me to cover.
I even replaced my guitar strings and cleaned up my Music room.
But every time I set myself up to start with the arrangements, I get sick.
It’s like nature’s way of shutting me up.
It prevents me to cause auditory discomfort to all of you.
So, I went back and tried to scour my old music archives
and found this.
There Will Never Be Another
by Amy Grant
I covered this way back in 2007.
I think I was sick when I did this. You can hear it from my singing.
Or maybe not.
I just sound a little on the horrible side.
So here is,
There Will Never Be Another
Music by Amy Grant.
Voices and Guitars by – Ty Martell
Oh! And on the lyrics, it’s actually “A hundred and three.”
Not “A hundred and tree.”
I told you I was sick.

Ako’y Pinoy!
(I am a Pinoy!)
Pinoy is a slang word that we call us Filipinos.
Much like a “Canuck” for Canadians.
Or “Crazy Americans” in uhhh America.
Anyway,
In celebration of the Philippine Independence Day,
I made this cover of a great OPM Inspirational song.
It’s a song by Florante,
a great Folk Singer I used to listen to
back when I was growing up in Manila
It’s a song proclaiming about One’s love for his own language.
My Webcam wasn’t cooperating with me much
while I was filming this, and my Stereo Plug connection keeps on popping.
I am sorry, this is the product of my exhaustion and laziness.
Pardon the mistakes as well.
Here is Ako’y Pinoy.

Here’s a Video Upload I did over the weekend.
Now be easy with me, it’s my first time.
A song by a Filipino Artist, Mr. Martin Nievera.
And definitely one of my favourite love songs.
Each Day With You
I did a Video Post, to try it out.
To be honest with you, it is way easier
than recording multiple tracks.
I like playing Live.
Plus I wanted this site to grow and offer new stuff.
Thanks again for listening.

Each Day With You –Lyrics
Actually it’s not really new.
I made this one way back in 2006.
There were a couple of songs that I tried to record with mostly just the piano.
The piano has that soft, mellow feel that I cannot get quite right on the guitar.
So if you would allow me to be a little sentimental,
emotional, temperamental
and maybe just a little bit accidental,
I present you this cover I made.
And since it’s the month of February, “The Month of (Nutjobs) (Weirdos) Love,”
I think I am allowed to be.
(I have no idea what I just said.)
