Sound Advice

An addition from the last post.

Here’s a tweet reply from Music Artist Kina Grannis.

Yeah, I like being on the Tweetie.
Because of stuff like this.
People whom you’ve never met, take some time from their life
to respond to random strangers,
and without them fully knowing how it helps the other person.

I should follow her advice, eh?
She’s very good at this song writing thing.
She knows what she’s talking about.

Check out her album and you would see how amazing she is.

Oh and thanks to my friend Jojo Ellis
for introducing Kina‘s music to me.

Song Writing

One thing I’ve never really spent much time on
is song writing.

I have always been fascinated with musical instruments.
How they blend together.
How they can be used to carefully modify songs that we know.
I like arranging them into one big musical chorus.

I have never dabbled much on song writing.
I tried. Once or twice.
But I have always been spoiled with other people
who can easily write songs and give them to me.
Then I can arrange the music or at least suggest how it should come about.

I may have an idea on how the plot of the song might be,
but I just always end up going in tangents and lose my focus to actually complete it.
Most of the time, I just get angry. Or sad.
That I just leave the whole idea and just play.

It must be so nice for these artists who can just sit down and write songs
like it’s just a normal thing to do.

I would like to be one of those someday.
I want to work at it.
And not just depend on other people’s work and ideas.

I was going through my song archives under the Originals Category,
and I came across again with one original song that me and my friends did,
and I am mighty proud of it.

It was really an idea I always had, and I pitched it to my friends, Raymund and Melvin,
and one day, I came home and they told me they worked on it.
Had the words done and a starting melody.

We worked on it, and before the day ended,
we had this song done and we started jamming.

This one is called,
If I Don’t Have You.

Maybe someday, I will get the inspiration I need,
or the heartache I may experience,
to sit down and start writing words
and could eventually turn into music.

Song Lyrics start here.

Happy 4th!

I read somewhere, (Of course I can’t remember),
that the reason why Americans raise and wave their flags so high
is because they worked so hard for their freedom
and they always take it to heart.

Do not take it for granted, folks.
This may be our last.

Happy Independence Day to all.

Remembering the King of Pop

No matter what people say with how he lived his life,
Michael Jackson was (and is still) a great force in our Music history.

His tunes will forever be playing on the airwaves.

Today marks his Death Anniversary, and I just want to remember him and his music.

–A cover I made three years ago, in honour of him.

Thanks, Michael.

Site Logo

What about this?

This is actually a T-shirt that was designed
by my good friend, Maita, years ago.
And I am thinking of making it this site’s logo.

Or maybe, a cover for an album.
It could happen. I may make one.
It’s possible.

I actually wore that shirt on 2 of my Youtube Videos.

On here,

And on here.

I think it’s a great design.
Well, for me anyways.

I just don’t know how to edit the header image and incorporate it.
Or design it for an album cover.

Maybe someday.
What do you guys think?

Thanks again, Maits.

More stuff

You see that thing on the sidebar that says “This Time Last Year?”
I added that plug in to see how things have changed since.. well.. last year.

I don’t know. I am trying more new stuff on this site,
to see if it’ll entice me to try … well.. new stuff.

Oh and I also added a category on here named Pictures.
That’s just to quickly query all the posts that I did with.. well… pictures.

I am not doing too good with writing new posts that much anymore,
so I will see if I can re-kindle my relationship with this site
and add more..well… writings.

Anyways.
Let’s see what more stuff I can add.
You just sit there and look pretty.
I’ll do all the work.

Do you belong?

Do you ever notice sometimes
That you don’t belong anywhere?

Like everybody likes a certain thing and you just can’t get why?

On your daily drive, everyone seems to be going slow, or faster than you?

Like everyone is on to a joke and you still never heard it?

Like the whole world is giving everyone their chance,
and you are still there waiting with your hand out?

Like God has answered everybody’s prayers but yours?

And the music in your head is playing a different tune.

That’s what I feel with the world we live in.
Or “I” live in.

Because I am so sure,
I am meant to live at a different place,
in a different time,
with a different face.

The young once?

I remember one time my friend Eric and I were talking about the old days,
reminiscing about our High School adventures and mischief.
Then we reached that awkward moment of silence where we start thinking about
how we miss those days and wished we were back and re-live them.

It’s funny how when you were young,
you couldn’t wait to grow up and do what the adults do.
Make your own decisions.
Go wherever you like.
Do whatever you please.
And experience a lot of things without asking permission.

Ahh. The Adult life.

What we didn’t know then,
that being older comes with a great load of burden called “Responsibility.”
And that is a big wake up call for everyone.
You don’t see that when you are young.

But in my opinion, I really wouldn’t want to re-live my past.
It is something I really do not want to remember or ponder on.
Though, I would like to go back and right all the wrong decisions I have made
And steer my future self to a better one.
Or a better possibility of achieving my dreams.
Be at the right place at the right time, sort to speak.

We remembered this story about one of our professors
who was chatting with us and told us this:

“You all think that this time of your life is horrible,
but you will look back on it and wish you were still at this point and wishing it never ended.”

He was right.

And imagine us telling the youth of today this?
They would probably say what we told our elders then.

It’s a vicious cycle.

“Enjoy your youth.
You’ll never be younger than you are at this very moment.”
