Another Year Over

A new one will begin tomorrow.
It’s time for a do over.
2010 sure has its ups and downs.

You just have to cherish the ups,
and you just have to learn from the downs.

And every time you pick yourself up,
you move on.

That’s one of the things I have learned this year.

No matter how empty and helpless you may be,
No matter how much disappointed and frustrated you are,
you move on.

Thank you all so much
for regularly checking my site out from time to time.
I wish you all the best this New Year!

Today’s Quote

“Forgiveness is based purely on Love.
Not because you love the other person,
But because you love yourself enough
that you do not want to be hurting anymore.
And then you move on.”

Yeah, that one is from me.
It’s my epiphany for today.

New Song Added – Ikaw Lamang

I have been listening to a lot of OPM (Original Pilipino Music) lately,
and I was trying to do some new covers,
but my recording gadgets won’t cooperate with me.

So, I just dug into my old archives
and see what I have made before
that I haven’t posted yet.

Here’s an old favourite of mine.

Ikaw Lamang
(by Zsa Zsa Padilla)

I made this one back in 2006.
Definitely one of the best Filipino love songs I have ever heard.

I remember when I used to play this in weddings.
I had to pause my singing a couple of times
to actually take in the emotions that this song is trying to convey.

Okay, maybe I was crying,
but that’s not important right now.

The important thing is we all appreciate the beauty of a song,
no matter what language it was written in.

Oh and of course it’s important to me that you listen to it,
and pretend that you like it.

So here is,
Ikaw Lamang

Thanksgiving 2010

In the last hour of me, watching TV,
I must have seen a hundred Black Friday adverts
with all the shopping craziness there would be,
but only a few reminders for what Thanksgiving is.

Hopefully all is not forgotten.

“It’s either we add our troubles,
or we count our blessings.”

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Coin toss

“When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin.
It works not because it settles the question for you,
but because in that brief moment when the coin is in the air..

You suddenly know what you are hoping for.”

Generation What?

Speaking of Generations.
You know how every generation is given a name?

You know?
The Baby Boomers,
Generation X,
Generation Y,
Copy-Paste Generation,
Prince and the New Power.

Anyway, I got a whiff of what the kids are calling themselves these days.
They seem to call themselves,

“The Entitlement Generation.”

A lot of them feel that everything should be given to them,
without them giving any sacrifice
or going thru the value of hard work.

They feel that they have the right to have everything.

Are they wrong about this?
Is it the Parent’s fault?
