Oh Great Queen!

Today is Mr. Freddie Mercury’s 65th Birthday.

Queen is one of those legendary bands whom I loved,
the very first time I heard them.

How in the world can the power of Opera
and the might of Rock and Roll be merged together as one?
Just like how “Bohemian Rhapsody” showed us?

Yes. Queen did that.

The anthem of “We Will Rock You!”
and “We Are The Champions” being sung in every sports event.

Queen did that.

The synchronicity of hands with clenched fist and clapping was known
and understood every time someone performs “Radio Ga-Ga.”

Queen did that.

The Drums of Roger Taylor on the Coda of “Somebody To Love.”
The Bass of John Deacon on “Another One Bites The Dust.”
The Melodic Guitar Riffs of Brian May on “Killer Queen.”
And the Voice and Charisma of Freddie Mercury on each and every song they have done.

“That” is Queen.

My Radio, Cassette Player,
Walkman, CD Player, Mp3 Player,
Computer and even on my phone,
I always have my favourite Queen songs
added permanently.

I miss them being together.

“When I’m dead, I want to be remembered
as a musician of some worth and substance.”
[Freddie Mercury ~1946-1991]

We remember you, Sir.
We remember.

Oh and Hey!
Remember this?

BIG Review

Let me tell you something.
I just had a major surgery done last month.
Recovery time wouldn’t stop me from seeing this concert.

A Hurricane threatened the state of Florida last week.
That wouldn’t stop me from seeing this concert either.

I have waited years to see one of my favorite bands of all time.
Mr. Big has heavily influenced the music I listen to and the songs I try to play.

Seeing them perform live is a dream come true for me.

A little review and some more pictures and videos to come soon.
My throat still hurts.

I see BIG tonight!

Yes Sir!
I have waited to see them in concert for years.
One of my greatest music influences.

Paul Gilbert‘s unbelievable Guitar technique.
Billy Sheehan‘s Bass virtuosity.
Pat Torpey‘s Amazing percussion beats.
And Eric Martin‘s killer voice screams.

They performed in Manila back in May of 1994,
but I left the country, a month before that.

They parted ways years after and destroyed my hopes of seeing them live.

Now they are back in tour,
with all original members together.
And I am determined not to miss this show in Orlando.

I’ll try to sneak in some pictures from the show if I could.
Once I control myself from screaming like a 10 year old girl,
and giggling to myself.
I’ll try my best.

I’ll also try to do a review of how it went.
So check back here and see what rock madness I have experienced there.

TONIGHT, WE ROCK!

Pretty Links

I changed the URL Permalinks on this site, from
the old crazy denofmusic.com/p?#####(some#kind#of#random#stuff)

to denofmusic.com/%category%/%postname%
which is whatever Title I put in, to make it readable.

But you don’t care about that.
To be honest, I didn’t either.
And now it took almost 11 years before I changed it.
It was driving me nuts.

Thanks to Dean’s Permalink plugins and a whole bunch of people on the forums.

Now I just have to fix the Archives.
Oh and I also lost the “likes” I got on my Facebook buttons.

Oh well,
We’ll just have to do more shameless self promotion.
I’m used to that anyway.

My New Girl

Let me introduce my new girl.

She really caught my attention when I walked into the music store.
I don’t have a name for her yet, but I am certain that we are going to make a lot of happy memories together.

Yes! I’m going.

“What’s the point of force, it’s easy as a horse to ride.
A green tinted sixties mind.”

Damn right I’m going.

I missed their show back in 1994 in Manila,
a month after I left for Canada.

Then they broke up, and destroyed my chances of seeing them live ever.
Now they got back together, and on tour.
And I am NOT going to miss this one.

Check out their new album, “What If..
the album is full of the Rock power, Mr. Big gave in the 90’s.

Eric Martin’s voice,
Pat Torpey’s Beats,
Billy Sheehan’s Bass Tones
and my idol, Paul Gilbert’s gutbucket riffs.

I am frothing in the mouth already!

Flashback Friday

Here’s one of my favorite worship songs that I’ve covered.
I LOVE YOU – by Bro. Mike Lapid

I am re-posting this tune for Flashback Friday
just for a reminder, that no matter how much difficulties we have in life,
there is always someone who looks after us.

It also breaks my heart when people I love go through such trials.
This song has helped me a lot during those times,
and here’s to hoping it would help others too.

Thanks to Bro. Lapid for composing it.

Here’s
I LOVE YOU
