Almost there

Almost there!!!

Well this is really not our flight.
But it’s the only Canada thing I can see here in Newark.

It’s pretty warm around here and quiet considering there was a snow storm yesterday.

No delays so far.
Nice!!

Vacation time is about to commence!
And I will start it at the hockey game tonight!

Woohoo!!

UPDATE:
I just jinxed that.
The Ottawa flight is delayed for an hour.
Damnit.

UPDATE 2:
Now the gate has been changed.
Damn it!!!

New Song Added – Fallin’

Actually it’s not really new.
I made this one way back in 2006.

There were a couple of songs that I tried to record with mostly just the piano.
The piano has that soft, mellow feel that I cannot get quite right on the guitar.

So if you would allow me to be a little sentimental,
emotional, temperamental
and maybe just a little bit accidental,
I present you this cover I made.

And since it’s the month of February, “The Month of (Nutjobs) (Weirdos) Love,”
I think I am allowed to be.

(I have no idea what I just said.)

Here is
Fallin’

Music by – Teri De Sario
Voice and all instruments by – Ty Martell

I give up!

It is a known fact how much I adore and idolize

Paul Gilbert.

But on this G3 tour,
with Joe Satriani and John Petrucci,
while they were jamming on Always With Me, Always With You,
the clip between 1:09 and 1:37,
is probably one of the best riff phrasing I have ever heard from him.

It’s simple, but it Rocks!

I give up.
I am going to destroy my guitars!
I will never be able to do that!

This jam is so freakin’ awesome,
it makes you wanna slap your momma!

Twice!!

The Land Down Under

I didn’t come from the Land Down Under.
Where beer does flow and men chunder.

But I sure wish I did.

With their Gorgeous Women, Devils from Tasmania
and Wolverines.
(I’m sorry, I meant Hugh Jackman. “Wolverine” is Canadian.)

I wish I live in this amazing land of wonder!
I bet it’s so much fun there.

The latest news is that the Classic 80’s group
MEN AT WORK
Who sang the popular music “Down Under,”
have been sued for copyright infringement and lost.

News Article here. -> CNN

It was claimed that they stole the music from an Australian Nursery Rhyme.
A Kids’ Nursery Rhyme written in the 1930’s.

Now I really am not going to take sides, on who’s right or wrong,
or how ridiculous this story is.

I just want to express my concern about people being sued in the future
for singing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”

Or
“The Alphabet song.”

Come to think of it,
These two songs should sue each other
for they both have the same melody.

Come on.
Don’t be shy.
Sing it in your head!

2010 Grammy’s

Random Thoughts about the 2010 Grammys

– I think Lady Gaga and Marilyn Manson are one and the same.
– I don’t care what anybody says. Elton John is Fabulous!!!
– Stephen Colbert is funny. I like him.
– The iPad? Not so much.
– I need to start listening to Kings Of Leon.
– And Black Eyed Peas.
– I actually told my friends before the show that Taylor Swift will dominate the Grammys.
– She did. Well, she won more than one.
– Pink made me dizzy. And wet.
– So did Beyonce.
– And both of Katy Perry’s
– Norah Jones was the hottest artist there that night. Hands down.
– Greenday is the most awesomestest band ever!
– I still miss Michael Jackson.
– My 3D Glasses didn’t work.
– I like the Tribute to Les Paul better.
– Is it me or Slash’s guitar was not in tune?
– Probably because of Jamie Fox’s voice Autotune.

And lastly,
I really don’t mind when Hip Hop and Rap artists perform.
With all 5 freakin’ guys, each with their own microphones
rapping and running all around the stage.
I cannot understand most of the words they say anyway.

But I think the Networks should change their policy on letting
artists perform their songs with profanities.

I understand that they cannot let those words be said on air,
with their censorship rules.

But since there are so many in a song,
all you hear are either lots of muted sounds or tons of bleeps.

It is very awkward for people watching the show in the comfort of their homes.

Because once they started bleeping those profanities,
I started thinking of all the swear words I know and substituting them to all the bleeps!

My swearing is getting a workout!
And I am getting very creative lately.

Made My Day

These days,
where everyone is going about their busy lives,
it is nice to hear how you are appreciated from time to time.

Sometime last week,
My co-worker, who said this to me before,
came to my office and told me this.

“Ty, I just want you to know how we appreciate you.”

I said, “Thank you.”
And I asked why?

“First I want to thank you for being so patient with us whenever we need help.”

“Okay.” I said.

“This weekend, my mother got a laptop for the first time, and I was showing her how to use it.”
My co-worker replied.
“You know, just showing her the email and the internet.”

“That’s great!”
“How did it go?” I asked.

“I almost killed her!”

Alright.
Maybe “Kill” wasn’t exactly the word that was used.
But anger and frustration was definitely conveyed on our conversation.

I didn’t really care if murder was on the six o’clock news that night.
But that story really made my day.
