Last week,
My son and I wanted to watch a movie at home.

He didn’t want to watch anything I recommended,
And I begged not to watch any of his.

As I scour amongst our movie collection,

Darwin sent that to me a long time ago,
but I never really let Tyler watch it.

I didn’t think it was appropriate then for him to see Voltes V
Cut and slice his enemy into a V Shape catastrophe.

He didn’t want to see it at first.
I said “This was my favourite when I was your age.”
“Let’s watch the first one. If you don’t like it, we’ll stop. Ok?”

OK.

Now.
We’re on episode 25.

The kid loves it!
We even clap and cheer whenever they start “volting in.”

It was really a great feeling!
Seeing myself in him,
enjoying the same show I loved years ago.

Someday he’s going to be into things that I do.

Most probably Guitars.
And women.

Simultaneously.
