I have mentioned here in my site multiple times
that the most requested song I have covered is
I LOVE YOU, by Bro. Mike Lapid.

I have longed to get in touch with him so I can properly send my sincerest thanks.
As well as inform him that I have been distributing his songs to those who have requested for it.

Well, it finally happened.
With the help of a certain individual, who knows Bro. Lapid personally,
came across my site and made this connection possible.


Bro. Mike Lapid, personally emailed me and I quote:

“I would want you to know that you have all my permission to do whatever you want with my song
and feel free to disseminate them as you please.”
I am simply happy for you and indeed feel so humbled
that my songs have touched you in quite a special way.

It took me the whole day to write him back. I couldn’t believe it happened.
Then I was scared that he might not like how I covered his songs.
But then again, I didn’t play his songs to prove that I can or show off.

I played them for personal reasons.
And as he is humbled, I am twice as much.
Especially whenever I receive requests and compliments on how I made it.

So again, Thank you Bro. Lapid for your beautiful songs of inspiration.
And thank you to all those who listened to my rendition of his music.

Sir grateful if you could send me an email copy of this mp3 i really love the message of these song i heard a choir here in our parish singing this song and it made me cried coz this song goes to show we have a forgiving father God is love. I am a sinner i must admit most of the time i am commiting a sin because i am pushed to the very edge i know that is not an excuse i hope God can still love me and forgive inspite of all the bad things i had done.

    This is one of my fav songs when i was in highschool. I think u did a great job with ur version. Its the same way i remember it in don bosco especially the drums.   41. I really love this song. This is the song I always look forward in the mass I attended way back elementary days.

    Unfortunately, I rarely hear this anymore since I graduated in elem (last 90’s). 🙁 I also searched the web for a downloadable copy, but failed, to my regret.

    Just the other day when our chorale group is brainstorming about another piece we would like to present on the 24th SFC Laguna song fest, we remembered this song and ended up singing it. Our groupmates who were unfamiliar with “I Love You” also fell in love with it. They simply can’t help it. ^_^

    Anyway, this song very heart-warming. I particularly love this verse:

  42. I would also like to ask permisssion from Br. Mike LApid for my church band to play the songs here in Cebu. I’m a proud Don Bosco Technology center alumnus and I am part of perhaps the only early waking all star band that plays in the 6 am mass here in one of Cebu’s churches. MOst of the members are parts of various rock bands here in Cebu and have mad the commitment of still waking up at 6 am in the morning every sunday to serve mass.

    I already have arranged a beautiful guitar solo intro for I love you…
    and Yourr’e all I have will be epic…listening to it gives me goosebumps and reminds me of my DOn Bosco days…

    Thank you for taking the time to listen to my rendition of it.
    I love this song as well.

    Unfortunately, I have no idea where we can get a minus one version of this.
    I never really looked for one, because I have been playing it for a long time.

    I can try to send you my own version, without my voice, if you want.
    It’s really not official, but you can use it until you find someone who can play it in church.
    I just need to convert it to MP3, since I still have it in RAW form.

    Good day. I was wondering if I can get Bro. Mike Lapid’s contact email? The reason is that the Church we serve in requires all the songs and hymns we use for the Mass must either have paid copyright or have permission from the author/composer/publisher. I’m hoping to get his permission (in writing) as well like you. Thanks!
